How to get to Bærums Verk

Getting to Bærums Verk is easy, whether you travel by car or public transport. Choose what suits you best:

By car – Drive to Bærums Verk and park within a short walking distance of shops, restaurants, and experiences. We have 4 parking areas and always offer 3 hours of free parking. Get directions via map.

By bus – The bus stops close to the area, with a short walk to the shopping destination.

  • From Oslo Bus Terminal and Bekkestua: bus no. 150 Gullhaug, stop Bærums Verk
  • From Sandvika: bus no. 210A Bykrysset or 210B Lommedalen skole, stops Verksgata and Bærums Verk

Experience for individuals or small groups exploring on their own

Bærums Verk is a charming destination, perfect for those visiting on their own or in a small group. With its long traditions and over 400 years of ironworks history, it offers a unique glimpse into Norway’s past. Surrounded by original wooden buildings, distinctive workshops and galleries, visitors can experience Norwegian history, craftsmanship and art up close.

Located in scenic surroundings just a short drive away, Bærums Verk is only 20 minutes from Oslo. There are several cafés and restaurants on site, and reservations are usually not necessary. 

We recommend setting aside around two hours for your visit. Visitor brochures are available in both Norwegian and English, and a sculpture catalogue is available in Norwegian. You will also find signage on buildings and along the walking paths.

Book a guided tour for larger groups or travel parties

For a deeper understanding and richer experience of Bærums Verk, you can book a guided tour. All tours are led by experienced guides with extensive knowledge of the site. Guided tours are available in Norwegian and English. For the best experience, we recommend a maximum group size of 25 people.

The destination is well suited for group visits, with good facilities and a high level of accessibility throughout the area, including walking paths and bridges. Bærums Verk offers a spacious and beautiful outdoor setting, along with a diverse selection of unique shops, galleries and artisan workshops. The shops and galleries vary in size and offer a wide range of products across different price points.

Please note that there is limited parking available for large buses. We kindly ask you to notify the destination here if you are planning a visit.

There is no admission fee to visit Bærums Verk.

Parking at Bærums Verk

It is easy to find parking at Bærums Verk. There are four parking areas on site:

  • Verksgata (entrance from Lommedalsveien)
  • Handelshuset (by Verket Interiør)
  • Handelshuset parking garage (entrance from Vertshusveien)
  • Elvegangen (on Gamleveien, behind Rema 1000)

 

3 hours of free parking for all visitors.

Parking is ticket-free and managed in cooperation with OnePark, where cameras read license plates on entry and exit. If you wish to stay longer, the cost is NOK 25 per started hour. Payment can easily be made at a machine or via an app.

Baby changing / nursing room

Baby changing facilities and a nursing room are located on the second floor near Bogerud and Princess Interiør.

Wheelchair accessibility

The area is well adapted for wheelchair users, with wide, accessible walkways and elevators in the center. In Verksgata some entrances may have one or more steps and slightly narrower doorways.

Bicycles

We have a bicycle rack outside the main entrance and another by Baker Hansen.

ATM

An ATM is located between Vitus Apotek and Meny.

Dogs

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside the shopping center.

Electric scooters are not allowed

For safety reasons, the use or parking of electric scooters is not permitted inside the shopping center.
